One last Event this Year

After we cooperated with the Kunsthistorischen Museum Wien in a few successful events over the last years, we yesterday received the confirmation that we will again be part in their newest big exhibition: the Gods in Color are coming to Vienna.

A short explanation for those who do not know the exhibition. The "Gods in Colour" exhibition is all about colour in the ancient world, especially in ancient sculptures. They analyzed colour traces on ancient statues ans frescos and created reconstructions of the works in the colours they probably had in the past. The result is an impressive collection of art, which turns around the public picture of ancient art, which is still dominated by white marble statues.

The exhibition will start on November 13th 2012 and will be shown in the Antikensammlung of the Kunsthistorische Museum Wien until March 17th 2013. On December 8th 2012, the Hetairoi will demonstrate ancient methods for dyeing fabrics and colouring with pigments to the audience for a day. Additionally they can see our usual reconstructions and get all questions regarding ancient Greece answered.

We are looking forward to working with the KHM again for such a great exhibition. Here are a few other pictures from the exhibition (Source: Wikimedia Commons):
